Back to Reality....

Getting out of vacation mode wasn't as hard as I thought.  Granted I miss my sister even more and miss the beautiful ocean view from her place and everywhere we drove.  It was nice to get back to my same 'ol same 'ol routine and to get Lulu back on a nap schedule!  I am also SO glad that my family is back on a normal sleeping schedule.  My sister wasn't kidding that it would take about 5 days to adjust to the 5 hour time difference.  The first 3 nights we, including the girls were going to bed past midnight (7 pm in Hawaii)  and waking up between 10:30-11.  On day 4 of our return I was back to normal ready to hit the sack at 10, but Lulu was wide eyed and ready to party- she was still going down close to 2 am on day 4 & 5!  It was brutal, let me tell ya.  Thankfully, Gabe is a night owl and loves his cuddle time with Lulu so he would stay up until she fell asleep and some how managed to wake up early for work.  I don't know how he functions without little sleep because I am the type of person that needs a minimum of 8 hours of to face the next morning.

Of course my mom was super excited to see the girls that she had a welcoming present for Hannah.  She got her two baby chicks- an early Easter present, but I look at it as another set animals to feed, clean and water!  Hannah loves them and just picks them up and plays with them all the time.  Lulu is now ok with them, but at first she was deathly scared of them, lol.  She would point at them and cry!  She has overcome her fear and tries to pick them up with her chubby little hands but is a little too rough with them. The dogs try to eat them all the time so they are kind of banned from the front yard until Gabe can build a safer home for them.  When we returned the dogs were happy to be reunited with their bigger animal friends- our donkey, Rockstar and Dillion the horse.  Our dogs think they are equestrian animals too!  It was nice to look outside my bedroom window and see them roaming on the back half our property.

Hannah named this one Ms. Black

Last week she would be crying as she is pointing to the chicks.  She was giving Gabe a huge smile =)

****Update on the chicks:  Gabe got them a bigger and better home!  They are no longer living in a cardboard box...they have there own chicken coupe:
Now we can let the dogs roam up front without having to worry that we will find feathers scattered all over our lawn!
