Good-bye Febuary

Thank you March! Its gonna be a great month. I will always think of last month as the longest 29 days of pure sickness. It started with a runny nose for Lulu and by the last two weeks of Feb she had the beginning stages of RSV.  In the first week, Hannah decided to get sick while Gabe was in Boise for 4 days. She had a major runny nose and a mild fever and the bad case of needy-ness, which was tough to address b/c Lulu was sick too and just wanted to be carried.  Through out the month Hannah never missed school and felt ok for the most part, but had random fevers now and then.  She had a high fever on Valentine's night, but woke up fine the next morning!  Last month we made countless visits to the doctors and an unforgettable trip to CVS.  I bought 5 over the counter meds for both lulu and Hannah and decided to get a steam vaporizer (which was on sale) in hopes that would elevate Lulu's sinus congestion.  I was blown away that 6 items totaled $55.  My receipt printed out a coupon for my next visit (within 4 days) I would get $5 off a $25 total purchase- go figure, I get that after I spent $55!  Not even a week later, I get really sick and Lulu's sinus issues turns into a nasty cough and ear infection.  Back to CVS for antibiotics for Lulu & I (I got an ear infection too) and over the counter meds for myself.  It was almost the end of Feb and all I can think & pray about is for Lulu to stop coughing (b/c it would make her throw-up) and for her & I to be able to breath through our nose.  No sooner, Gabe was sick!  Not as bad as us, but he had a couple of miserable days of sleepless nights and feeling exhausted.  On Monday, Feb 27 I was feeling better and so was Lulu- I had hopes that we would end this month on a good note.  Tuesday afternoon, Lulu gets the runs, BAD diarrhea.  So bad that her diaper rash was not just a rash.  It was so sad, I felt helpless and really wanted to cry when she would cry everytime I put her in the tub or changed her diaper.  I was tempted to stop the antibiotics as I knew this was a reaction from it but I continued and spent more money on topical creams for yeast infection and different diaper rash creams.  For two days she spent most of the time without a diaper and I spent most of the time mopping.  It got to the point that I didn't take one step without my mop and the lysol spray was hanging on my back pocket!  On March 1st, the sun was bright and warm and I took that message from God that it was going to be a good day and Lulu's diarrhea was getting better.  Amazingly, her bum was so clean, you would have never thought she had some major issues down there!

Now that we are in March and the Hallett household is healthy and breathing fine through our noses and all the meds are put away we can finally look forward to Spring Break!  It was liberating to throw Lulu's & my empty antibiotic bottles in the trash!  By the end of this week I will be packing for our 17 day get-away!  Nothing but swimsuits, dresses, flip-flops and tank tops will be in our luggage for Hawaii!  We will stay over night and all day in San Francisco so I will have a separate bag for Northern Cali weather- jeans & sweaters!  I am so excited to not only see my sister and her family again but to see her on her turf....on her paradise island!  God is good and I'm thankful that Feb was the month that the sickness attacked the Hallett's!

**Below are pictures of our Library visit a couple of weeks ago.  I was shocked when Lulu didn't put her mouth on everything!  She actually played with the toys like she's suppose to do!
