First day of KINDERgarten!!!

Well, I survived the first day of Kindergarten.  I mean Hannah survived her first day of Kinder!  Gabe and I both woke her up at 6:30 a.m and she happily got up to wear her new school outfit.  She was pretty calm and just ready to start a new chapter in her life.   Hannah has two qualities that Gabe and I admire- confidence and an outgoing personality.  We admire those qualities not because we are proud parents, but those are two important qualities we certainly didn't have at her age.  We were both so shy that I remember only have one friend throughout my elementary career!  I worried about everything when I was little, as a matter of fact I still worry about everything.

The thought that Hannah would be scared of going to a new big school never crossed my mind.  I knew she would be fine and I knew she wouldn't have any problems making friends.  I worried that Hannah would feel overwhelmed by going everyday for 7 hours with only a 20 min recess and 30 min lunch.  I worried that I would be lonely during the day and that Lulu would go crazy without her sister.  I worried that Hannah would get hungry later in the day because she didn't finish her lunch because she was talking the whole time.  I worried that Hannah would forget her morals and pickup bad habits from her classmates.  All my worries weighed heavily on my heart yesterday as we walked from the parking lot to her classroom.  Gabe was quiet holding Lulu and I was holding Hannah's hand so tight telling her over and over- "your gonna have such a great time and how nice to go to a new school so close to home".  I guess I needed to say that several times to make me feel better about the situation.  As we walked in her classroom she saw her name on table and sat down ready to start school.  I had no tears to shed,  I was happy, my nerves calmed down and I no longer worried.  I gave her a tight squeeze and said goodbye and enjoyed the rest of my day with Lulu.

Look how happy she is!

First thing Lulu did when we walked in our door- she put my shades on and gave me my camera!  Such a ham :)

My sad face because Hannah isn't with us :(

Lulu's classic cheesy smile!

I'm in this huge line waiting to pick her up and I spot her class walking to the front for pick up

Ready to tell me all about her first day ;)

Battle of the bordem......

As summer vacation is slowly coming to an end I am slowly running out of energy!  I wanted to enjoy every day with Hannah before she starts school.  I had a list of things to do before Aug 27th and most of my activities are crossed off!  It's going to be weird not to have Hannah home with me, but I can't wait for school to start, lol!  Driving all over creation to explore new things is great, but man am I tired after doing that for 3 months!!  Endless trips to the pool will not be missed (by me) because Lulu has absolutely no fear of the water.  It's such a relief that I no longer have to worry about Hannah's safety because she is such a great swimmer because ALL of my attention is on Lulu.  She is such a dare devil that pool days stress me out, but at the end of the day the girls had fun and they are exhausted.

During Hannah's summer fun, she lost her first tooth!  Since June she would wake up every day pointing to a different tooth that was "loose".  Then later that afternoon she would say it's not loose anymore because it's taking a break.  A week before we drove to Louisiana to visit my sister in law her tooth was actually loose.  In a about six days it popped out and the tooth fairy found her in Shreveport, LA!  Since then, there is not a day that goes by with out telling strangers about her missing tooth.  Our mail lady knows, cable guy, my doctor, random people who are shopping at the grocery or department store....EVERYONE is informed by Hannah about her missing tooth.

On another note, we are eating farm fresh eggs!!!  Ms. Brown, our original chicken who has witnessed 3 deaths among her chick-a-dees is laying eggs!!!  It is so great to see the girl's reaction every time they find an egg!  Sunflower who is only 1 month younger than Ms. Brown is not that far behind from laying eggs too.  My mom bought four more chicks back in June after two of our precious chicks (Angel & Tia Claudia) died from a brutal attack from starving hawks.  The guys did some improvements in the chicken coup to insure a safe habitat for the new chicks and our original two.  Hannah in no time came up with the names for the new four- Frannie, Francis, Tia Claudia #2, & Cindy.  These chicks are very different- they have puffy cheeks like chipmunks!
